We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Area Manager for our Gas & Pipeline division. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead and manage operations in a fast-paced and ever-evolving Engineering industry. With a focus on utilities, civil engineering, project engineering, project management and operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. This is a hands-on role requiring direct involvement in various aspects of engineering projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the planning, design, and construction of gas and pipeline projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
2. Develop and implement operational strategies, plans and procedures to enhance productivity, quality and efficiency.
3. Manage and coordinate with project engineers, field personnel and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
4. Review and approve project designs and deliverables, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
5. Lead and manage a team of engineers and other staff, providing guidance, training and motivation to drive performance.
6. Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential hazards and issues.
7. Develop and manage budgets, forecasts and resources to deliver projects successfully.
8. Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, innovation and a high level of professionalism.
9. Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
10. Continually evaluate operations and processes, implementing improvements where necessary.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required. Advanced degree is a plus.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in utilities, civil engineering, project engineering, project management and operations, preferably in the gas and pipeline industry.
3. Proven track record of managing and leading engineering projects to successful completion.
4. Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations and best practices.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with all levels of an organization.
8. Proficiency in project management software and other relevant technology.
9. Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.
