In your future role as Logistics Operator you will: Principal Responsibilities: - Operate in area assigned - Functional Chemicals Product loading areas.
- Know and operate all equipment and processes associated with raw material offloading.
- Understand shipping, operates equipment in area assigned to perform functions.
- Know and operate mechanical operations of shipping, loading and offloading equipment.
- Assist in development of job analyses for area of responsibility and assist in training other operators in their use.
- Ensure that what is shipped to customer matches with order and appropriate paperwork is part of shipment.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment in area.
- Participate in improvement projects to improve the shipping and receiving of materials.
Health, Safety, Security, and Environment-Specific Responsibilities: - Understand and help implement the Pasadena Functional Chemicals Site Operating Policy and Objectives which includes ISO/RC 14001.
- Be aware of potential health, safety, security, and environmental impacts in your area of responsibility and the consequences if an upset occurs.
- Understand and implement any parts of the Pasadena Environmental Compliance Plan and Waste Management Plan that apply to your area of responsibility.
- Participate in the site's on-going Pollution Prevention Process.
- Diked areas must be inspected for integrity and signs of spillage.
- Ensure that the solid and hazardous waste drums, rolloff bins, etc., are properly labeled and stored. Disposal of all hazardous waste drums are appropriately implemented.
- Contact the environmental department and complete an Environmental Upset Report for any excursion.
We believe you bring: Education and Experience: - High School diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of shipping and receiving experience in a plant environment.
- Knowledge of SAP (strongly preferred).
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Must be able to wear steel toed shoes, safety glasses and hard hat when going into the plants
- Must be able to drive a forklift
- Must be able to lift 60 lbs
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
- Must know shipping aspects
- Must know mechanical operations of shipping
Good to know: This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Logistics Supervisor in Houston, TX.
