The Manager, Legal Regulatory & Compliance Projects will oversee development and management of Regulatory functions in the Corporate Counsel Department, including providing guidance and direction for the development, implementation, management, and monitoring and auditing of processes and procedures.
- responsible for overseeing the development and management of Regulatory functions in the Corporate Counsel Department related to licensing (food permit, alcohol license, lottery, SNAP, WIC, etc.) for all new Publix grocery stores and liquor stores throughout all operating states
- responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of technology tools and recommending technical resources to manage processes and procedures efficiently and effectively
- responsible for managing talent, including hiring, mentoring, supervising, coaching, training and providing daily operational guidance to associates
- responsible for overseeing the management of the Corporate Governance function within the Corporate Counsel Department
- responsible for supporting Compliance and Regulatory functions within the Corporate Counsel Department
- responsible for assisting with other functions, such as Corporate Secretary, Contracts Counseling, Real Estate, and Litigation Management
- responsible for developing and maintaining professional proficiency
In Publix's corporate offices, we value in-person interactions, similar to those our store associates have with customers. This is an in-office role located in our Lakeland, FL, corporate office.

This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies or similar area
- 5 years of paralegal level experience in the corporate, regulatory or compliance field
- 5 years of management experience in the corporate, regulatory or compliance field
- Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) or willing to obtain within one year of being hired
- Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) or willing to obtain within one year of being hired
- knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to the supermarket business
- knowledge of the supermarket business, including general knowledge of licensing and permitting
- ability to negotiate and be an advocate for Publix
- ability to read and interpret legal and regulatory documents
- excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and time-management skills
- ability to quickly and proactively identify and analyze issues and develop solutions
- ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal format
- project management techniques
- advanced knowledge of Lexis or Westlaw
- advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Access
Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in Legal Studies or similar area
- 6 or more years of paralegal level experience in the corporate, regulatory or compliance field
- 6 or more years of management experience in the corporate, regulatory or compliance field
- CCEP, CHPC and Certified/ Registered Paralegal in a state where Publix operates
- knowledge of overall Publix organization and various business area operations
- knowledge of company and business area policies and procedures
- expert knowledge of Lexis or Westlaw
- expert knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access
