General Description
This position will oversee the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a pallet repair production lines/machines. This team member will conduct routinely scheduled maintenance and also be responsible for resolving any and all mechanical issues, delays, breakdowns, and repair regarding the production and conveyor line. This position will also include maintenance and repair of all other equipment (i.e., generators, power tools, forklifts) and general building and grounds maintenance as needed. The Pallet Production Line Mechanic is essentially responsible for ensuring that the facility and all equipment is functioning at optimum levels by performing repairs and long-term improvements.
The ideal candidate for this position must possess strong mechanical skills and have a experience in a production background; preferably in pallet manufacturing and repair.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Supervision
Walk the warehouse regularly to evaluate operations, solve problems, and answer questions
Make recommendations to the Operation Site Manager on ways to improve pallet facility operations and maintenance functions
Facility and Equipment Maintenance
Oversee repairs, refurbishment and scheduling of recurring maintenance
Allocate equipment so that it is used properly and efficiently
Coordinate with the Operations Site Manager to ensure that a sound maintenance program is implemented
Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on forklift, trucks, production lines and/or various other equipment
Safety, Sanitation, Security
Demonstrate awareness of company safety policies and procedures and ensure that all safety procedures and policies are followed
Identify and report safety hazards
Encourage others to work safely
Operate in compliance with OSHA and other appropriate standards
Review production line operations daily to ensure the production area is neat and well organized
Monitor damage to product, equipment, and the facility to oversee prevention and/or timely repairs
Documentation/Reporting
Ensure that all records and reports regarding the production lines and facility operations and maintenance activity are prepared on a timely basis and effectively maintained
Review operating goals and standards and monitor achievement and compliance
Communication
Communicate with both internal and external customers as required and with the pallet production line team
Interact with management and the customer on a daily basis to achieve unified goals
Attend and/or conduct any necessary training regarding the production lines and safety
Assist with training of associates
Any and all other Duties as assigned by management and deemed necessary for optimal operations, performance and productivity
Education and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent is required
Must be eighteen years of age or older
Minimum five (5)+ years of mechanical maintenance experience, production line maintenance experience, pallet manufacturing and/or repair, or a combination thereof
Pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
Understanding of the mechanics of production line operations
Ability to work with outside contractors
Experience in forklift and conveyor line repair
Ability to provide general overall facility mechanical skills
Intermediate computer skills
Must have basic math skills
Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
Must be able to deal with stressful situations, meeting deadlines and tight scheduling requirements
Must be able to shift priorities easily

Physical Requirements
Must be comfortable working in extreme temperatures of hot, cold and/or dry and loud environments
Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods on concrete or hard surfaces
Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis
Requires periods during which continuous physical exertion is required such as climbing and lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward requiring the ability to regularly lift 50+ pounds without assistance and 100+ pounds with assistance and using proper lifting techniques
Have the ability to withstand loud noises and multiple distractions
Available to work overtime and weekends if and when needed

Starts at $16-$18/hr
