Job Description

Saratoga Medical currently has a FULL-TIME opening for Certified Substance Abuse Counselor to work in the SARP (Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program) clinic at the Portsmouth Naval Medical Center. Employees will work a 40 hour work week schedule, 4-5 days a week with 8-10 hour shifts scheduled plus an unpaid lunch break. Shift services will be provided Monday through Sunday. Day, Evening and Night Shift positions are available and needed. This is an excellent opportunity to provide residential treatment services to the active duty and dependent population. Qualifications:

• Possess an Associates of Arts Degree in Behavioral Science with specialized training in Substance Abuse and Chemical Dependency treatment or Completion of the Navy Drug and Alcohol Counselor School (NDACS) that leads to Navy Certification as Navy Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
• Minimum of 1 year experience within the last 3 years, as a Substance Abuse Counselor in a Substance Abuse Rehab Program with both male and female clients.
• Alcohol and Substance Abuse Certification required
• BLS certification required prior to start date
