About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Head of Drug Safety & Pharmacovigilance to join their team. The successful candidate will be a key leader in the organization, responsible for the strategic direction and operational delivery of safety and pharmacovigilance activities. This role requires a highly experienced individual with a medical doctor (MD/MBBS/DO) degree and significant global drug safety/pharmacovigilance experience. The VP will be accountable for ensuring the integration of safety considerations into the company's overall business and clinical development strategies, as well as for the management and leadership of the patient safety and pharmacovigilance function. Key responsibilities include the development and implementation of a comprehensive safety strategy, leading the team in safety information evaluation and reporting, providing expert guidance for global safety and pharmacovigilance, and interacting with regulatory authorities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading and motivating teams, as well as the ability to influence and inspire others, build strong relationships, and drive consensus across diverse stakeholders. They should be adept at managing multiple priorities, be effective in conflict resolution, and have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. The role also involves maintaining expert knowledge of safety regulations, ensuring global regulatory compliance, and representing the company in safety matters with external stakeholders. The VP, Head of Drug Safety & Pharmacovigilance at the company will play a critical role in the development of innovative medicines. The candidate must be dedicated to the mission of the organization and be prepared to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience in a leadership role within a development function, beyond drug safety and pharmacovigilance, and the ability to act as a business leader with a long-term strategic vision are essential.
